OnBase is a fully integrated Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system that allows users to store, retrieve, route, manage, share and archive vital information from the volumes of paper documents stored in rooms and filing cabinets -- information that is critical to school district operations, audits and customer service -- all in a cost effective manner.

The MEC ITC is one of five Ohio ITCs that have contracted with Hyland Software, Inc., developer of the OnBase(R) enterprise content management (ECM) software suite, and Hudson James Incorporated, a provider of document and content management solutions, to offer the OnBase system to participating school districts. 

With OnBase, documents related to payroll, personnel records and board minutes, as well as student records and transcripts, are processed and indexed into OnBase and stored at the MEC Data Center.  The documents are then retrievable using the OnBase web application.  Users simply select a document type and a keyword value, such as name, invoice number or other index value to retrieve one and/or all documents associated with that value.
