About MEC

Ron Miller
Executive Director

The Metropolitan Educational Council (MEC) is a consortium of school districts and related agencies in the greater central Ohio area. The primary mission of the Council is to contribute to educational services available to youth and adults by the cooperative action of the membership.  MEC identifies, plans, and provides to its members services that can be more effectively achieved by cooperative endeavors.
Governing Board

The MEC Governing Board is the body responsible for transacting business and administering the programs and services offered by the MEC.  The Governing Board consists of a delegate and alternate representative from each MEC member district who is either a board of education member or school district administrator.  Governing Board members serve a two-year term beginning July 1.

MEC Committees
Committees are the backbone of the Metropolitan Educational Council. MEC committees, both standing and ad hoc, are composed of school administrators, school board members, MEC personnel, and other school district personnel whose jobs are related to the committee function.

Committees study and evaluate proposals set forth by the MEC Governing Board and/or Executive Director. They make recommendations which the Governing Board adopts, alters and then adopts, or refers back to the committee for more study.
